Our story began in 2023, when Lauren Waardenburg and Cristina Alaimo envisioned a dedicated space for scholars exploring the organizational, social, and institutional implications of artificial intelligence.
In 2025 the community was renamed Theorizing Data and AI — TheorizingDAI — reflecting the central role of data in understanding contemporary technologies and their impact on organizations and society.
